Tweed Regional Museum
Public Programs and Audience Development
I developed and delivered a diverse range of public programs, events, and fundraising initiatives that enriched the Museum’s exhibitions and engaged a wide array of audiences and supporters, increasing visitors by 400% in my first year. My events and programs explored relevant and sometimes challenging themes, delving deep into the Museum’s exhibitions and collections. I also developed the Museum's Fundraising Plan and executed the actions identified, ensuring it was fundraising-ready and laid the foundation for building long-term, impactful relationships with sponsors and donors.
Key Highlights:
- Museum Street Party: I managed the Museum’s second Street Party, further developing the programming to increase attendance to 6,000. Inspired by all things Tweed—people, places, biodiversity, and history—the 2024 event celebrated the Museum’s 20th birthday while also increasing support for local businesses and artists.
- Fundraising and Supporter Engagement: I developed and implemented the Museum’s comprehensive fundraising plan, including the creation of donation portals, the "Support Us" webpage, and the "Love Your Museum" campaign. Through targeted communications, events, and campaigns, I cultivated relationships with both current and potential supporters.
- Creator of the "Mini Murwillumbah" installation as part of the OMNIA: all and everything exhibition.
- Museum on Wheels Summer Program: I curated the "Museum on Wheels" program, promoting the GAME ON exhibition of vintage toys through augmented reality, illustrations, game design, and play. The exhibition toured for three weeks, engaging over 1,400 people across ten locations in the Tweed, including holiday parks, mini-festivals, markets at Tropical Fruit World, and visitors to Cudgen Creek in Kingscliff.
- The Museum's Inaugural Street Party: I managed the Capturing Nature Street Party, which attracted over 3,000 attendees. The event featured exhibitions, live music, adventure games, performances, public art, and a variety of public programs.
- Museum Up Late (MUL) Events: I curated and managed the Museum Up Late events, growing attendance from 70 to over 430, with repeat visitors. These dynamic events activated the Museum in exciting ways and attracted diverse audiences.
- Promotion and Communications: I led the promotion and communications for all public programs and events, while also supporting the promotion of exhibitions and educational/school holiday programs.
